Rate
The reception rate is counted in "units".
One unit is composed of a 30 minutes reception by one Geisha.
For more details on the "unit" rate contact the reservation staff of your hotel or Ryokan.
The first 90 minutes (3 units) is called the "Basic session".
So if dinner starts at 18:00 and the geisha are called then the "Basic session" will end at 19:30.
Two geisha are called, the rate of the "Basic session" will be six units.
After the "Basic session" has ended, the geisha go to another banquet unless requested to stay.
If you would like to extend the session, you can request an "Extension session".
the "Extension session" is also counted by unit.
For example, if you wish to extend the banquet time by another 30 minutes, this count as one unit (per one of geisha).
If you wish the geisha to accompany you to the bar of hotel or Ryokan after dinner for one hour, this requires (per each geisha.) When two geisha accompany you, the rate of the "Extension session" will be four units (2 units by 2 geisha).
"Odori"
If you wish to see the Odori performance (Japanese traditional Geisha dance,) please inform the reservation staff.
The "Odori" performance requires a minimum of two geishas, one for the dance and one for the accompaniment on Shami-sen (traditional Japanese instrument similar to a guitar.).
