The Novel Prize-winning author, Kawabata Yasunari, loved this room in which you hear no sounds of the stream. He slept in daytime, worked in nighttime, and had a bowl of rice with tea every midnight, and next morning, people from magazine house or newspaper offices collected the manuscripts between the sliding doors. He had a look that could kill me in his eyes, but I knew he was a gentle man.

The drama script writer, Hojoh Hideshi, wrote in this room when he lived in Odawara. The room has great views of Hayakawa-river, birds play in spring, fireflies wink along the banks of the river in Yusaka-mountain, showy pink blossoms of the big crape myrtle by the window bloom from late July to September.

This room is in three-story wooden house, which has scarcity value in these days. It has the greatest view of all rooms in our hotel; you can enjoy seasonal changes in the scenery of Yusaka-mountain, and smell of fragrant olives in late October.

This room was designed by the outstanding business man, Nozaki Kohta(Gen-an), it used to have a waiting bench and a bathroom with it. The author, Osaragi jirou loved the room more than the others , and did a lot of his works in it from 1947, such as novels of "Kikyou" and "Munakata Shimai", also dramatic pieces. The author, Hayashi fumiko loved the room, too.
